Death to Fake...

Journal Entry: Thu Jul 9, 2009, 7:55 PM

So... After talking to Christine :iconfuzzyphotography:, I decided to shop around on eBay. She told me about the nice cocktail dresses she got earlier in the year, and they were very nice and fitting, also won't break the bank. {I was on the verge of giving up finding a dress for my anniversary after running all over the place for a dress that fits my mis-figured curves.} So, I sat down to look at the possible dresses...

I came across some cute things, that were in relatively reasonable sizes (I'm too fat for the normal Asian stuff now :x). However after payment, I was told that they just sold out the sizes for me. So ok, that's fine, the person decided to let me exchange. Except the person also said for you without extra charge, as if if this wasn't the case they would charge me?

In any case, since it wasn't going to charge me extra or anything, i picked out 2 new ones. I wasn't completely happy with that idea, I would rather the person refund me...

Shipping didn't take too long, and when I got it it wasn't too bad. I tried it on, ok so one had no shape and the other, is a bit too lose. So it was all strange.

Now that I am trying to pack up and move to my new place, I've came to realize maybe I don't want these two dresses. Honestly... they don't fit me very well... And the black empire waisted dress seems to be made of cheap material. So I asked my Fiance maybe if he can eBay it for me later. Mind as well not letting it go to waste. I went to find the image for the items, one is no where to be found and the other however... I just realized is not even the same dress as shown in the photo.

This, is a close replica of what is featured in the magazine. You can count the numbers of shells on each side of the design, and indeed this one is a copy. No wonder it feels so cheap!! It was almost see through, I was even considering adding a layer beneath if I were to wear it.

Lessons are definitely learned here. For the same price, I mind as well stick to what we have here in the Malls. They aren't bad. maybe they are 5 dollars more expensive than what I had to pay for these two. At least, they are wearable and I can try them on. At least the materials aren't always so cheap and you can pick the ones that weren't so. (This means you Forever21, sometimes good sometimes bad...)
